The Trust Medicines Information Service
is a pharmacy-based service, providing
information and advice concerning any aspect of
medicine usage.
What services do we offer?
What type of
enquiries are dealt with?
Enquiries relating to
all aspects of therapeutics are answered, e.g.
Dosage and administration
Adverse effects
Drug interactions
Availability and supply
Medicine identification
Medicine use during pregnancy and lactation
Stability and formulation
Who can use the service?
Any doctor, GP,
dentist, pharmacist, nurse or health care
professional can use the Medicines Information
Service.
The Trust also
has a patient helpline available (Monday –
Friday, 9 – 4pm) for members of the public who
have queries about medicines they have received
or been prescribed from Withington or
Wythenshawe Hospitals.
Who staffs the
Medicines Information Centre?
The centre is
staffed by pharmacists trained in the provision
of pharmaceutical information. Sue Banfield
manages the service with the assistance of one
other pharmacist.
