Sando K tablets are the preferred oral potassium supplement. Slow K should be reserved for fluid-restricted patients. Slow K should be taken in a sitting or standing position as slow-release tablets may cause oesophagitis if they become lodged. Review dates are encouraged, to prevent hyperkalaemia occurring.
